Sheffield man jailed for assault and making threats to kill
He punched a woman, before holding a knife to her throat
A Sheffield man has been jailed for assault and making threats to kill, after holding a knife to a victim's throat.
Scott Daley, of no fixed address, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, threats to kill, and rape on June 24 last year.
He admitted to two of the charges, assault and threats to kill, at Sheffield Crown Court last December.
If follows an incident in June 2023 when Daley punched a woman before threatening to stab her.
He initially denied assault, claiming swelling to the victim's face was the result of an abscess.
Daley will service three years and four months, after also being found guilty of making threats to kill another woman during another incident in June 2022.
Alyshea Sharp, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “I am thankful that this dangerous offender has been jailed for his horrendous crimes.
“No-one should be subject to the vicious threats and violence which Daley has been responsible for, and I hope that his victims will find some comfort in the fact that he will now spend several years behind bars.
“We will always respond robustly to reports of threatening and violent behaviour and ensure that offenders are brought to justice.
“I would encourage anyone who has been the victim of threats of violence or assault to report it to us.”
Daley was found not guilty of rape following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court
