Sheffield man jailed over county lines drug dealing
The 31 year old was running a drugs line supply cocaine in the city.
A Sheffield man has been jailed for his involvement in the supply of Class A drugs in the city.
31 year old Jamie Cresswell, of Errington Road, ran a drug line selling cocaine between January and April of this year.
He was arrested following a raid on Main Street on April 17, during which drugs, cash and jewellery were seized.
Cresswell was charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.
He admitted to all three charged at Sheffield Crown Court in May and was sentenced to nine years in prison last week.
Acting Detective Sergeant Craig Winkless, of South Yorkshire Police, said:
“Drug dealers like Cresswell prey on the most vulnerable in our society, with the sole purpose of making as much money as possible.
“There is a very real human cost to this practice, and it needs to be tackled by everybody.
“Cresswell used a dedicated drug line to advertise the sale of Class A drugs, usually by broadcasting text messages to multiple recipients.
“Illegal drugs have a devastating impact on our communities, and disrupting the supply of these substances is a priority for us as a force.
“I am glad that Cresswell has nine years to reflect on his harmful actions and I hope this sentence serves as a deterrent to those who may consider following in his misguided footsteps.”
