Sheffield City Council has set out major redevelopment plans for two city leisure centres.
The facilities at Springs and Concord are set to be completely rebuilt as 'state of the art' new leisure centres, with work set to start in late 2026.
It comes just months after leisure operator Everyone Active took over the centres, along with eight other sites across the city including Ponds Forge,
Under the plans, both leisure centres will be fitted out with new gyms, as well as a six lane 25m swimming pool and separate teaching pools.
Each will include a sports hall and studio spaces for fitness classes, as well as a soft play, changing facilities and a cafe.
NHS services will also be provided from both buildings, with a healthcare facility currently based at Concord remaining in place.
Councillor Kurtis Crossland, who is in charge of parts and leisure facilities at Sheffield City Council, said:
"This is a significant investment in the health and wellbeing of our residents. The new leisure centres will ensure that everyone, regardless of ability or background, has access to top-quality fitness and wellbeing facilities.
“We are committed to making Sheffield a healthier, more active city, and these redevelopments are a major step forward."
