Two men jailed for combined 14 years over 'violent' Sheffield kidnapping

It's after a 34 year old man was forced into a car - before being beaten up and dumped on Batemoor Road

Two men have been jailed for a combined 14 years for over a 'violent' kidnapping in Sheffield.

25 year olds Dominic Marsden, of Toppham Drive and Osbourne Mhere, of Manor Park Rise, will each serve seven years four months over the incident on September 11 2023.

A 34 year old man was forced into a car before being taken to another location and violently assaulted.

He was then left seriously injured on Batemoor Road the following day.

He required a two month stay in hospital.

Mhere was arrested on September 12, with Marsden apprehended a week later.

Both admitted to kidnap and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, with Mhere additionally admitting to possession of an offensive weapon.

Detective Inspector Jamie Smith, the officer in charge of the case for South Yorkshire Police , said: “I am glad to see these two violent men jailed for several years.

“They were involved in a brutal crime which saw a man seriously harmed. Their victim will bear the scars of this attack, both physical and mental, for a long time to come. I hope that this sentence provides him with some comfort.”
