Sheffield Cabbie's Fractured Skull

A Sheffield taxi driver's been left with a fractured skull after an attack on Friday night in the city. The 45 year old was set-upon by a passenger getting out of his cab on Wake Road around about 7.45pm. He was struck on the head in the assault and the injuries have been described as non-life-threatening.

At around 7.45pm on Friday, 30 January, a 45-year-old man was getting out of his taxi on Wake Road in Sheffield.

Police received reports that the taxi driver was struck on the head with an unknown weapon, by an unknown suspect, causing a skull fracture.

He was taken to hospital, where his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
