Second arrest following fatal crash near Chesterfield, which left mother and son dead
Police had been looking for a driver following a crash between Chesterfield and Matlock, which left two people dead
A second man has been arrested by police investigating a fatal crash between Chesterfield and Matlock.
A 49-year-old woman died at the scene, while her 22-year-old son died later in hospital after being airlifted there.
The collision happened on the A632 Chesterfield Road at Span Carr at around 10:20am on Saturday 9th December.
A 40-year-old man was questioned by police a short time later, and has since been released on bail.
A second man, 27, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses.
