Nearly 400 young people seeking help for youth homelessness in South Yorkshire
Local charity Roundabout say they're almost full to capacity
Organisations in South Yorkshire - aiming to tackle youth homelessness - admit they've 'barely got any spare beds' - with the festive season approaching.
Roundabout - who support young people without anywhere to live in Sheffield & Rotherham - up to the age of 25 - say nearly 400 of their properties are currently taken up.
Ben Keegan is the Chief Exec of the charity - he insists there's plenty of options available for those without a stable home:
"Nobody needs to be sleeping rough at any time of year, but particularly when the weather's bad, we need to get them inside.
"Once we've got these vulnerable people some secure accommodation, it's about putting them on a path to long-term security.
"If somebody comes to us in need of a place to sleep for the night, we'll make sure that young person has a bed for the evening.
"Our aim is to help young people get secure accommodation, and to make sure they have good links GP's and dentists.
"This wrap-around care enables people not to need homelessness services in the future."
