Rotherham woman arrested in connection with Tommy Ward murder
The 80-year-old died in February 2016 after he was injured at home in Maltby
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Tommy Ward.
Emergency services were called to Tommy’s house in Salisbury Road, Maltby on the 1st October 2015, and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say a safety deposit box containing around £30,000 in cash was also reportedly taken from the 80-year-old’s home during the incident.
Tommy died several months later on Tuesday, 23 February 2016, and it was found he passed away as a result of the injuries he suffered during an assault.
A murder investigation was launched, and ten men and one women were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences. All were later released with no further action.
Today (19 August) a 36-year-old woman from Rotherham has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
