Rotherham taxi driver injured in 'racially aggravated' attack

An investigation is underway after a Rotherham taxi driver was assaulted in Swinton in the early hours of this morning.

An investigation is underway after a Rotherham taxi driver was assaulted in Swinton in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to the Rowms Lane area just before 1am. They believe four men assaulted the taxi driver, a 38-year-old man, after he picked them up from a pub. The victim suffered significant injuries as a result of the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Two men, aged 20 and 51, have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Police are urging any witnesses to come forward.
