Fourteen more people charged over Rotherham rioting - including three 16 year old boys

A total of 108 people have now been charged in connection with the disorder last August

Fourteen more people have been charged in connection with the rioting outside of a Rotherham hotel last summer.

Three 16 year old boys are among the latest group to face court, over clashes with police outside the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers on August 4 2024.

Crowds damaged the hotel as well as police cars after gathering outside the venue in the wake of the Southport knife attacks.

A 16 year old boy is due before Sheffield Youth Court on April 30 accused of violent disorder and arson with intent to endanger life.

Callum Bacon, 18, of Wilkinson Street, Barnsley, is charged with violent disorder and arson. He will appear before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on June 23.

Matthew Crossland, 32, of Everill Gate Lane, Wombwell, is charged with violent disorder and arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered. He is due before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on June 20.

The following are also charged with violent disorder:

- Two 16 year old boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

- Scott Jones, 38, of James Street, Barnsley

- Keethan Reeve-Lawson, 21, of Mount Vernon Road, Barnsley

- Jason Sinnott, 34, of Farm Road, Barnsley

- Elarna Abbey-Garner, aged 19, of Station Road, Dunscroft

- Dion Wragg, aged 26, of Assembly Way, Barnsley

- Jack Knight, 21, of The Crescent, Barnsley

- Lee Whitelam, 33, of Town Lane, Rotherham

- Darren Ward, 54, of Norville Crescent, Darfield, Barnsley

- Philip Wood, 22, of Milton Street, Bootle, Sefton

A total of 108 people have now been charged in connection with the disorder, with 89 of those being sentenced to a combined 218 years in prison.
