Road closures for Sheffield 10k
The race is happening ahead of the Steel City derby
The Sheffield 10K takes place across Sheffield this Sunday, with thousands of runners expected on the start line.
The race starts on Arundel Gate in the city centre at 9:30am, taking the runners up towards Ecclesall Road, around Encliffe Park and dipping back down into the city centre towards the finish line.
It’s going to be busy in and around Sheffield, with the city’s first football derby in five years taking place on the same day. Sheffield United play Wednesday at Hillsborough, and supporters have been encouraged to run the 10k before heading over the match.
Last year’s event saw thousands of pounds raised for charity, with organisers hoping for an even bigger turn out in its second year returning in the city.
The race will affect roads throughout the city centre and Ecclesall road area from 04:00am and 16:00.
