People across South Yorkshire are being reminded not to forget the behaviours they picked up during the coronavirus pandemic.

Ruth Granger-who's a Public Health Consultant at Sheffield City Council-says some habits have led to a reduction in other illnesses:

"During the pandemic we actually saw tummy bug diseases going down because people were doing such a great job of washing their hands.

"Flu cases also weren't as prominent, so washing our hands is still really important.

"Be considerate when you're going to visit people who might be medically vulnerable.

"If you're feeling unwell, then maybe hold off from visiting them.

"Obviously, face coverings aren't legally required anymore, but they're also still really useful in some settings when it comes to preventing infection."

The coronavirus infection rate across the UK is still near the record levels seen earlier this month, with one in thirteen people still likely to test positive.
