Police watchdog no longer looking into Chesterfield death during Storm Babet
Pensioner Maureen Gilbert was found in her flooded home in Tapton Terrace last month
The death of an elderly woman who died in Chesterfield during Storm Babet is not going to be looked at further by the police watchdog
Maureen Gilbert was found at her flooded home in Tapton Terrace in October and the incident was referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
It has now been handed back to the Derbyshire force for them to review the role the police had in relation to Maureen's death.
In a statement, Derbyshire police said: "A separate coronial investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of Mrs Gilbert’s death – and this is being carried out by officers separate to the investigation into the force’s response."
