A 15 year old boy who died after being stabbed in Barnsley at the weekend has been named as Loui Karl Phillips

Police found him with serious injuries in Fish Dam Lane in Monk Bretton after 2pm on Sunday (August 8).

He passed away yesterday morning (August 12) in hospital. A post mortem concluded that he'd died from a single stab wound to the chest.

DCI Mark Oughton, Senior Investigating Officer, said:

“Investigations are continuing and officers are working hard to piece together the events that led to a teenage boy losing in life in such tragic circumstances.

“As our enquiries continue, I would like to renew my appeal for anyone who saw what happened on Sunday afternoon to please contact us.__"

A 17 year old boy from Barnsley has appeared in court charged with Grevious Bodily Harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

He's been remanded in custody ahead of a further court appearance.
