Investigations are underway following reports of two sets of gunfire in Sheffield.

At about 2.30pm yesterday afternoon, officers were called to Eastern Drive in Arbourthorne after it was reported a man had fired a gun at a silver 4x4.

An hour later, officers were called to Samuel Road in the Norfolk Park area where shots had allegedly been fired at a house.

No was injured in either incident, but damage was caused to the side of the house.

Detective Sergeant John Yoxall said: “We believe these to be isolated, targeted incidents but we are treating them as linked.

“While I realise just how alarming incidents like these are, I would like to reassure you that we are treating them as an absolute priority for the area and although distressing, we do believe that they were targeted towards particular individuals.

“I would like to ask anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in either of those areas at the times mentioned to contact police.

“We also believe that in the second incident in Samuel Road, two suspected offenders left the area on a black and red motorbike. Did you see a motorbike with two people on it in the area?"
