Police have released CCTV images of a man they believe could hold vital information for an investigation into a reported shooting in Sheffield.

At around 12.45pm on Sunday 1 May, police were called to Hathersage Road in Sheffield after reports that shots had been fired outside the Fox House Inn.

Temporary Detective Inspector Graham Stead said:

“Our officers have been working hard all week to establish the circumstances surrounding this understandably quite distressing incident last weekend.

“From our enquiries so far, we believe that there may have been an incident that took place on a bus travelling through the local area. At the bus stop outside the pub, the suspect is believed to have got off the bus and reportedly fired a weapon.

“Thankfully nobody was injured, but that does not lessen the severity of this offence and we are determined to identify the person responsible.

“We believe the man pictured in the CCTV images holds information that could be incredibly useful for our investigation, so we’d like to hear from him or from anyone who recognises him.

“If you were on the bus last weekend, or travelling along Hathersage Road at the time of the incident, I’d also be keen to hear from you.”
