Plane 'skids' off runway at Doncaster Sheffield Airport
It's halted flights in and out of the airport
The runway at Doncaster Sheffield Airport's closed after a plane reportedly skidded off on to the grass.
The aircraft is a 747 freight flight and had no passengers on board - we're told none of the crew were injured in the incident.
Pictures show the plane completely on the grass next to the runway. Firefighters attended the scene but confirmed the plane was safe.
The runway will be closed for the rest of this evening, with flights being diverted to Leeds Bradford Airport. Anyone due to fly from the airport tonight is being urged to keep in contact with their airline.
The airport tell us flights will leave as planned tomorrow.
A spokesperson for Doncaster Sheffield Airport said:
"We can confirm that the runway at DSA is temporarily closed due to a 747 freight aircraft requiring operational support. There were no passengers on board at the time of the incident, and there were no injuries to colleagues or crew. The freight on board the aircraft may be offloaded to aid recovery.
"The fire team attended to assess the situation, have confirmed that the aircraft is safe, and have now returned to the station. "
