Queen Elizabeth's funeral has taken place today at Westminster Abbey with 2,000 people attending the service.

Here in South Yorkshire people gathered to watch the funeral on a big screen at Sheffield Cathedral.

In his sermon at the state funeral in Westminster Abbey, the Archbishop of Canterbury has told mourners the "grief" felt around the world over her death "arises from her abundant life and loving service", adding: "She was joyful, present to so many, touching a multitude of lives".

As the monarch is laid to rest, we've been speaking to people from South Yorkshire who have fond memories of meeting Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen's love of horses was no secret - she reportedly had over 100 to her name in June 2022.

It's no surprise then, that in 1994 she paid a visit to Doncaster Racecourse.

Chris Davis-Smith has the story of John Huntington who was head chef at the racecourse when she came to visit.

One of the things the Queen was best known for was opening things. Plaques detailing her visits to open new venues and images of ribbons being cut were an integral part of her duties.

Becky Lomas has been looking at the time the Queen visited Hillsborough to open the new Kop.
