Northern Lights seen across South Yorkshire last night

If you're logging on to X, Instagram or Facebook this morning it's likely you'll be met with a series of pictures of last night's Northern Lights.

They were spotted across the UK, including the whole of South Yorkshire.

Scientists say there have been more space weather events recently because the sun’s nearing the peak of its solar cycle.
