New anti-knife crime exhibition in Sheffield aims to make sure 'victims voices' are heard
It's been up and running at the Town Hall for the last few days
A fresh anti-knife crime exhibition in South Yorkshire is aiming to make sure 'victims voices' are heard.
The event at Sheffield Town Hall is taking place for the next couple of weeks-and will look at the impact on affected families & communities.
Local campaigner Anthony Olaseinde has set it all up.
He hopes it'll raise more awareness around the issue:
"We're trying to move away from just facts and figures, and actually put people to those numbers.
"It's very hard hitting, and I hope people do see that knife crime is a very serious thing.
"If a young man or woman dies and they've got kids, then their kids aren't going to know of them.
"Following that, their kids' kids aren't going to know them either, so it filters down for decades."
The exhibition - which is due to go on until April 3rd - features artwork by local artists & school children from Sheffield - as well as a couple of short films on the topic.
