Murder investigation begins after man dies from head injury in Sheffield

The 23-year-old was found seriously injured in Darnall on Saturday (June 08), and died in hospital on Monday (June 11)

A murder investigation has begun in Sheffield following the death of a man who was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

Police were called to reports of a serious assault on Staniforth Road in Darnall at around 16:30BST on Saturday (June 08).

A 23-year-old man was found with a head injury and taken to hospital, where he died on Monday (June 11).

A murder investigation is now underway, and detectives are asking to speak to any witnesses and see any CCTV or dashcam footage.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the investigation, and remains in custody.
