Investigation after car crashes into McDonald's in Doncaster

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries

An investigation is underway, after a car crashed into the side of a McDonald's in Doncaster.

Police were sent to the restaurant on Thorne Road, in the Edenthorpe area, around 4pm yesterday (Saturday 22nd June).

They were supported by ambulance and fire crews, and the building was evacuated as a safety precaution.

In a statement to Greatest Hits Radio yesterday evening, South Yorkshire Police confirmed: "A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

"A 37-year-old man has been taken to hospital where his injuries are thought to be life-threatening.

"We are please asking people to avoid the area which emergency services conduct their work."
