Man taken to hospital after being shot in Doncaster

A man has been taken to hospital after reports a man has been shot in Doncaster this morning.

Police say they were called just before 9am to a shop on Rockingham Road in Wheatley to reports that a man was armed with a gun.

A man was then taken to hospital after being injured after a firearms discharge.

South Yorkshire Police said:

"Officers were called just before 9am this morning (7 November 2022) to a shop on Rockingham Road, Wheatley, Doncaster, to a report of a man armed with a gun.

"Officers attended and a man was taken to hospital after being injured following a firearms discharge.

"An investigation is on-going and officers remain at the scene carrying out enquiries.

"We will issue any further updates as soon as we can."
