Man seriously injured in crash in Netherthorpe area of Sheffield

Police are looking into a crash near the Shalesmoor tram stop last night

An investigation's started after a man was seriously injured in a crash in the Netherthorpe area of Sheffield.

The pedestrian, who's in his 40s, was hit by a black Volkswagen Passat in Hoyle Street at around 10.55pm last night. The crash near to the Shalesmoor tram stop.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 40s, suffered head injuries which are believed to be life-threatening. They remain in hospital.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene to assist officers with their enquiries.

South Yorkshire Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch.
