Man left with life-threatening injuries after Sheffield collision

An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was seriously injured after a collision in Sheffield.

Police say they were called to St Mary’s Gate, near to the junction with London Road yesterday.

A 31-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A Police statement said:

"We are appealing for information after a pedestrian was seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Sheffield.

"On Sunday (15 September) at 8.12pm, it is reported that a yellow Hyundai Kona and a pedestrian were involved in a collision on St Mary’s Gate, near to the junction with London Road.

"The ambulance service attended and a 31-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting our officers with their enquiries.

"Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or those with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward."
