A man has died in hospital a month after he was hit by a car while walking along a street in Sheffield.

The pedestrian- a 46-year-old who hasn't been named- was taken to hospital following the collision, which left him with life-threatening injuries.

South Yorkshire Police said: "At about 10:55pm on Saturday 29 April it was reported that a black Volkswagen Passat was travelling along Hoyle Street near to the Shalesmoor tram stop when it was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

"We are continuing to appeal for any witnesses with information to come forward. Were you in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or were you driving past and may have captured what happened on your dash cam?"
