Man dies in Sheffield car crash

A man has died after crash between a car and a concrete pillar on the Tinsley viaduct.

It happened late last night, when a silver Seat Leon travelling along the lower deck of the road collided with a concrete pillar at the junction with the Meadowhall Roundabout

The passenger - a 24-year-old man, sustained fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old man, and another passenger, a 23-year-old man, sustained life threatening injuries in the collision. They currently remain in hospital receiving treatment. A third passenger in the car sustained minor injuries.

An investigation is currently ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision, or what happening in the minutes before it, to please report it
