Sheffield man charged with murder after car hits group in Burngreave

A 23 year old man is due before magistrates in Sheffield today - charged with murder - following the death of a man when a car was driven into a crowd of people, killing one man.

Hassan Jhangur from Whiteways Road in the city is also accused of five counts of attempted murder in connection with the same incident.

Good Samaritan Chris Marriott was killed whilst attempting to help a woman aged 32 at the scene, she remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Family and friends have paid tribute to Mr Marriot, saying the circumstances of the is death show the sort of man he was: "to go help rather than to turn away."
