Man charged and remanded in prison after Baslow stabbing

A man has been charged and remanded to prison after a stabbing in Baslow.

56 year old Mark Taylor, of Wheatlands Lane, was charged with attempted murder and coercive and controlling behaviour.

Police had been called to a house in Wheatlands Lane just after 2pm on Thursday 15 February to reports that a woman had been stabbed.

A woman, is in her 50s, was taken to hospital suffering non-life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged.

Derbyshire Police noted:

"Later that same day officers from Cheshire Police stopped a vehicle just outside Northwich, near Chester, and arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

Last night (16 February) Mark Taylor was charged with attempted murder and coercive and controlling behaviour.

The 56-year-old, of Wheatlands Lane, Baslow, was remanded in police custody and today, after appearing at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court, he was further remanded to prison."
