Mace and crossbow seized during raid on house in Doncaster

Weapons including a mace, a crossbow and a large knife have been seized following a police raid in Doncaster.

Police targeted the house in the Woodlands area after obtaining a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The weapons were hidden in a sofa, as well as two separate bedroom.

A small quantity of cannabis has been seized, along with drug paraphernalia.

A 20 year old man has been voluntarily interviewed by police and has since been released under investigation.

Sergeant Emma Townley, of South Yorkshire Police, said:

"Wednesday's warrant has allowed us to remove three dangerous weapons from the streets of Doncaster and we will continue to act on intelligence and information received to execute warrants, tackle crime and keep people safe in our local communities."
