Man dies on M18 after suffering 'medical episode' behind the wheel
South Yorkshire Police were called to the junction 5 sliproad yesterday
A man has died after suffering a suspected medical emergency behind the wheel on the M18 in South Yorkshire.
Police were called to the southbound carriageway at 3:46pm yesterday (March 10) after a white VW Tiguan hit the barrier on the junction 5 sliproad.
A off-duty officer gave the 55 year old Tiguan driver CPR but he passed away in hospital.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
South Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses, or anyone who captured dashcam footage at the scene, to come forward.
