Three men have changed their pleas and admitted to manslaughter through gross negligence, after the death of a Leeds man outside a Doncaster bar.

Mark Rowing from Doncaster, Dwayne Watson from Worksop, and David Williams from Nottingham admitted to the offence during a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court earlier today.

All were due to face trial.

Jamie Kelly, a 30-year-old from Leeds, was ejected from a bar on Silver Street in May 2022 before an altercation with Rowing, Watson, and Williams, all working as doormen.

Kelly sustained serious injuries and died in hospital the following day.

The three men, aged 37, 44, and 30 respectively, is set for April 30 at Sheffield Crown Court

The trio have been released on bail until that date.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles, of South Yorkshire Police, said:

“Jamie Kelly and his family have been at the heart of our extensive investigation since the moment we received the first call to the scene, and I hope today’s developments can begin to provide a sense of closure for everyone who knew and loved him.

“We await the sentencing in April and ask that the family’s privacy is respected as they continue to grieve.”
