Man remanded into custody accused of making threats with knife in Sheffield

A man has appeared in court charged with threatening someone with a knife in Sheffield earlier this year.

Hamze Awfarah, 25 and of Southend Road, was before Sheffield Magistrates' Court yesterday and has been remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Sheffield Crown Court on May 28.

He is charged with four counts of robbery, one count of attempted robbery, burglary, four counts of threatening a person with a blade, and possessing a knife in a public place.

It follows a series of reported incidents at shops in the Arbourthorne area of Sheffield, between February 25 and March 6 this year.
