'Raise a glass for Kelly' - family of Sheffield terror victim pay tribute three years on
Kelly Brewster was one of 22 people who lost their lives at Manchester Arena
Three years on from the Manchester Arena bombing, the family of Sheffield victim Kelly Brewster tell us they still miss her 'smile and passion for life' every single day.
The 32 year old was one of 22 people who were killed in the attack in May 2017.
Today a memorial service will be held online to mark the third anniversary, because of the restrictions caused by the coroanvirus pandemic. All of the names of those who died will be read out.
Kelly's family want people to raise a glass or light a candle at 10.31pm tonight - the exact moment the bomb went off at Manchester Arena three years ago.
The family tell us they're still hugely affected by what happened and have sent us a statement to mark the occasion:
"Our lives are still destroyed by the tragic events of 22 May 2017. Kelly was truly one of a kind and her smile & passion for life is missed by us dearly every day.
"She was killed at the happiest point of her life when she had so many plans for the future with her partner Ian & his daughter Phoebe, at a time when she had so much to live for.
"We are unable to mark the day together as a family as we normally would, however we invite people to raise a glass or light a candle at 22:31 in memory of Kelly and the other 21 innocent victims.
"We would also like to thank the amazing staff at Sheffield Childrens Hospital for the ongoing care they continue to provide to Kelly’s niece, Hollie."
Kelly was at the Ariana Grande concert with her sister and neice - she's been hailed a hero for shielding Hollie from the blast.
The 15 year old got a serious injury on her knee from the explosion and stills gets medical treament today.
