Former England manager Kevin Keegan diagnosed with cancer
His family say he'll now undergo treatment
Former England and Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has been diagnosed with cancer.
In a statement released on Newcastle United's website, his family say "Kevin Keegan was recently admitted to hospital for further evaluation of ongoing abdominal symptoms."
"These investigations have revealed a diagnosis of cancer, for which Kevin will undergo treatment."
"Kevin is grateful to the medical team for their intervention and ongoing care."
During this difficult time, the family are requesting privacy, and will be making no further comment."
The 74 year old was born in Armthorpe, Doncaster and during his career won 3 league titles with Liverpool and also represented Southampton and Newcastle.
He scored 21 goals for England during his 63 appearances for his country.
