Chesterfield FC midfielder John Fleck is said to be 'in great form' despite a health scare during warm-up for the game against Doncaster Rovers last week.

The 33 year old collapsed on the pitch and needed a visit to the hospital ahead of the League Two fixture, which the Spireites won 5 - 2.

However, he is now said to be making a good recovery, with an appointment with a specialist in the coming days.

In a pre-match interview, Chesterfield boss Paul Cook said:

“John is brilliant – he was on medication and he came off the medication because of how good he felt.

“John’s just got to see one more specialist to get that box ticked. He’s in great form, he’s been in every day, so I can reassure our supporters that everything looks great with John.

“In the Bromley game, we’d all seen a glimpse of John’s qualities which was something we’d all looked forward to seeing on the pitch and hopefully from our supporters’ point of view, we will see that again soon.

“He won’t be at Walsall tomorrow, but hopefully it will be soon.”

The Spireites are next in action tomorrow on the road to Walsall.
