A driver's starting five and a half years in prison for killing a boy outside his school, but for the parents of the teenager he knocked down that's not long enough.

Adrian Webster's car hit Lawrence Moorhouse while he was crossing a road near his school, Sheffield Park Academy, on December 10th 2013.

The 43-year-old, who's from the Manor, was convicted of causing his death by dangerous driving at a trial in July 2015.

Lawrence's mum, Alison, and dad, Alan, spoke to Hallam outside court.

They told us they didn't think the sentence was long enough:

Alan said:

**

"I'm pleased, but the sentence wasn't enough. I thought it should have been a bit more, but it's all over and done with now so I'm hoping we can get a bit of happiness back."

Alison added:

**

"He could go down forever and it wouldn't be enough."

Webster was going at between 40 and 45mph in a 30mph zone on Beaumont road north.

Judge Mark Gargan handed him a sentence of five and a half years behind bars and he has been disqualified from driving for three years.

He told him "you were aware that there would be teenagers around...caution was required, not excessive speed."

A statement from Lawrence's dad Alan was read out by the judge at Sheffield Crown Court:

**

"Lawrence was a 14 year old boy. He was our eldest child and our only son. He was a loving boy who had his life and dreams in front of him...It was very hard saying goodbye to him. It broke outrheart and now all we have are photos and happy memories. It has been awful since Lawrence died."

The statement continued:

**

"It is so sad trying to keep going. Life will never be the same again. He will always be in our hearts and minds."

Lawrence's family decided to donate his organs. Something the Judge described as reflecting the teenager's "generous spirit".
