Woman in life threatening condition after Barnsley crash
Police are appealing for witnesses.
A 67 year old woman has been left in a life-threatening condition after a crash in Barnsley.
Police say they were called yesterday afternoon to Broadway after pedestrian was hit by a car....she was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition with pelvic and head injuries.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
A statement from South Yorkshire Police said:
"Officers from our Roads Policing Group are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Barnsley that has left a 67-year-old woman in a life-threatening condition in hospital.
"At about 3.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 5 July), a blue Skoda Fabia TSi was travelling along Broadway from the direction of Dodworth towards Pogmoor when it was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on the bend in the road near Greenacre School.
"The pedestrian, a 67-year-old woman, was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition with pelvic and head injuries.
"A second pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, received minor cuts to her head.
"Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward."
Sergeant Matt Duffy/PC Alistair Stanistreet, the officer leading the investigation, said:
"We are seeking witnesses yo this collision so that we can build a complete picture of what happened in the build-up to the incident and the collision itself.
“If you were in the area at the time and witnessed the collision or were driving past at the time and have a dash cam in your vehicle which may have captured the collision we’d like to hear from you.”
