Hallam can exclusively reveal police are re-launching an investigation from over two decades ago.

Officers are looking into what happened in the run-up to a woman taking her life at Rotherham train station nearly 25 years ago.

Tom Bell's sister Alison struggled with mental health problems and killed herself in 1991.

"When there's somebody in your family with mental health problems- the whole of your family- everyone's on edge.

"Mental health doesn't just affect the individual, it affects the entire family."

Although Alison suffered from mental health problems, Tom still had questions about what caused her to make her final decision.

He told us those seeking justice over the Hillsborough disaster gave him the motivation to come forwards.

"Tears would come to my eyes, I would just well up. They were displaying such courage and I thought if they could do it- I can do it.

"I'd gone through a period of depression and I'd spoken to a councillor who helped me look at some of the things that were causing me anxiety.

"One of the things was the unresolved issues about what happened to my sister- there are some things in life you can't not do.

"This was one of them."

The Cumbria force have confirmed they have re-opened the case, but say they can’t comment any further at the moment.
