New measures have been introduced as part of a crackdown on antisocial behaviour near one of North Derbyshire's most historic sites - Hardwick Hall.
A Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) has been brought in in the area surrounding Mill Lane in Stainsby starting from February 4.
North East Derbyshire District Council is acting after persistent reports of fly-tipping, littering, public urination and intimidating behaviour.
Specific activities targeted by the PSPO also include filming or recording in restricted areas and any behaviour perceived as intimidating, including pursuit or following individuals.
Breaches of the Order may result in fines.
Speaking about the decision, Councillor Nigel Barker, Council Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Safety, said:
“This Order is a clear signal that antisocial and indecent behaviour won’t be tolerated in our district. We’re acting to protect residents, landowners, and the many visitors who come to enjoy our countryside and heritage."
Inspector Matt Brown from Derbyshire Police said: “There are a number of long-standing issues affecting the area which we, alongside our partners and the community, have been working hard to resolve."
“The introduction of the PSPO is the next step in our efforts to ensure the area remains an enjoyable place for people to visit."
“We have increased patrols in the area, and these will remain around the introduction of the PSPO. Bad behaviour or criminal acts will not be tolerated."
