Grimethorpe: police not treating "suspicious items" as terror-related following evacuation

Police investigating the discovery of "suspicious items" at a house in Grimethorpe say they are not treating it as a terror-related incident.
In an update. detectives also said the area has now been "made safe", after a bomb squad was called out.
More than 130 properties were evacuated on Wednesday (May 08), with people unable to return to their homes until around 22:30BST that night.
In an update, South Yorkshire Police said a small cordon was still in place around three houses in Brierly Road, which is expected to last around 24 hours.
They also have officers out in the area offering reassurance and answering questions residents may have.
A 58-year-old man and 57-year-old woman both arrested on suspicion of firearms offences remain in custody.
A second woman has also been arrested, on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
Assistant Chief Constable David Hartley, gold commander, said: "We are now in a position to confirm that this is a non-terrorism related incident.
"We will continue to work closely with colleagues from the YHROCU to assist their ongoing investigation.
"I would like to again express my gratitude and thanks to the local residents for their continued understanding and support.
"This would have been a distressing and disruptive incident for everyone affected.
"We want to reassure the community that your safety is, and always will be, our priority."
