General Election 2024: Labour regain South Yorkshire
Nick Fletcher, Alexander Stafford, and Miriam Cates all disrupted the so called 'Red Wall' of Labour 5 years ago
South Yorkshire's three Conservative MPs have lost their seats, in what's been an historic night across the country for the Labour Party.
Labour's Lee Pitcher took Doncaster East and the Isle of Axholme. He was up again Nick Fletcher, who was elected as the first ever Conservative MP for the constituency 5 years ago.
Meanwhile, Alexander Stafford achieved a similar feat when he was elected to replace Labour's Kevin Barron in 2019. He's lost his seat to Labour's Jake Richards.
While Miriam Cates gained the Penistone & Stocksbridge seat in the same year, but she's been replaced by Marie Tidball.
Elsewhere Labour held onto Barnsley, despite rumours after the exit polls that they could go to Reform.
