Sheffield Wednesday sack manager Garry Monk
He's been in charge since last September
Sheffield Wednesday are looking for a new manager today after sacking Garry Monk and his team.
The club sit second-bottom of the Championship and have just one win in their last six games.
The sacking comes after the Owls had their points deduction for breaking EFL rules halved from 12 points to six on appeal.
Chairman Dejphon Chansiri says: “I feel the time is right to make a change and I wish Garry and his team all the best for the future.
“I would like to say thank you for the time and effort Garry and his staff have committed to Sheffield Wednesday.”
Monk took over at Hillsborough in September last year and has overseen 58 games for the club in total.
Saturday's goalless draw with Millwall at Hillsborough proved to be his last game in charge of the club.
Paul Cook, Tony Pulis and Nigel Pearson are currently among the favourites to replace him.
