Funeral service held for 16 year old Leonne Weeks in Dinnington
Hundreds of people have been in Dinnington to remember the life of 16 year old Leonne Weeks whose body was found in the area last month.
Friends and family followed a horse drawn hearse to St Leonard's Church where a funeral service was held.
Over 100 of Leonne's family and friends took part in the procession before a private service in the church - three of her close friends paid tribute in the service speaking about the imact that Leonne had in their and many other lives.
Reverend Hilary Jowett led the service and told Hallam....
"She was unique of course and the loss of somebody unique is also a unique loss to each individual because we all have different relationships with individuals so we grieve in our own way."
"It's a very sad day and clearly over the past three weeks people have been through lots of different emotions. When we heard of Leonne's death people were obviously shocked and horrified and I think now that people are sad and sorrowful and grieving."
The family released a statement thanking the close knit community for their incredible support along the way.
"Today, we are laying our beautiful daughter Leonne to rest and celebrating her life with family and friends."
“She is loved and sadly missed by all her family. Leonne was a twin and was close to all of her brothers and sisters."
“We are grateful for the ongoing support shown by the community and other groups which have links to the family."
“As a family we would appreciate that our privacy is respected as we mourn the loss of Leonne."
