Fundraising page started for injured police in Sheffield

A fundraising page has been set up to support five police officers who were injured during an incident in Gleadless Valley.

People have been showing their support for five police officers injured during an incident in Sheffield.

It happened in Gleadless Valley on Wednesday night.

Policewoman Lisa Bates was the most seriously hurt suffering a fractured skull and broken leg.

An online fundraising page has been started to raise money for them.

So far over over ÂŁ5000 has been raised.

Messages of support have also been left on South Yorkshire Police's facebook page with many thanking officers for the work they do and wishing them all a speedy recovery.

Nathan Sumner, 35, of Plowright Close in Gleadless Valley, has been charged with attempted murder and is next due in court in May.
