Sheffield United's Miguel Freckleton heads to St Mirren on two year deal
Freckleton has had previous loan stints with Wealdstone, Yeovil and Chesterfield and made 32 appearances while on loan with League Two Swindon last season.
Sheffield United's Miguel Freckleton has joined Scottish Premiership side St Mirren on a two-year contract.
The 21-year-old defender arrives at the club from the Championship outfit on a deal running until summer 2027.
Freckleton has had previous loan stints with Wealdstone, Yeovil and Chesterfield and made 32 appearances while on loan with League Two Swindon last season.
Speaking about Freckleton's arrival, manager Stephen Robinson told the club's official website: "Miguel is someone whose career we have watched develop.
"We feel that he is someone similar to Richard Taylor. He's got good attributes and is really quick. He's still got lots to learn, but at 21 he's played nearly 100 games and we'll continue to work with him.
"He's someone who will get better with more football and will become a big asset for ourselves."
The Buddies have also signed former Livingston goalkeeper Shamal George at the third attempt.
George, 27, has joined on a season-long loan from Wycombe 12 months after leaving Livingston, where he made 80 appearances.
Manager Stephen Robinson told St Mirren's website: "Shamal is someone we've looked at for a number of years and unfortunately had been able to get him in the two attempts we made.
"Shamal comes with real experience of this league after his time at Livingston. We think he can be an instant number one at this level.
"We can get Peter Urminsky out on loan and we believe that will really develop him as he needs games. Shamal will have real competition from Ryan Mullen for that number one spot."
