Four convicted over Sheffield firearms plot
The four were charged after a raid last July
Four men have been convicted of firearms offences in Sheffield, after police found equipment to convert blank firing pistols into working guns.
It follows a raid on an industrial unit in Darnall in July 2023 which led to the discovery.
Two other men were convicted over attempts to either sell or manufacture guns and ammunition.
Following a six week trial at Sheffield Crown Court, Zakaria West, 29, of Tythe Barn Way, Sheffield, and Arron Ward, 30, of Smelter Wood Crescent, Sheffield, were convicted for conspiring to sell or transfer prohibited weapons and conspiring to manufacture, sell or transfer ammunition.
Danny Milner, of Gresley Walk, Sheffield, was also found guilty of conspiring to sell or transfer prohibited weapons. He was seen on CCTV handing over a suitcase to West which was later found to contain firearms.
Andrew Loton, 35, of Bramshill Close, Sheffield, admitted to conspiring to sell or transfer prohibited weapons and conspiring to manufacture, sell or transfer ammunition at an earlier hearing.
He was found to firearms parts and ammunition at his home.
The four will be sentenced at a later date.
