South Yorkshire charity aiming to provide vital supplies for those affected by flooding in Pakistan
Sahira Irshad from Mum's United in Sheffield is calling on people to donate what they can to help out with the crisis
A South Yorkshire based charity are preparing to 'do their bit' to help those affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan.
More than 1,100 people have been killed recently, while an area the size of the UK is now underwater there.
Sahira Irshad from Mum's United in Sheffield tells us a number of people from the organisation will be heading out there soon with tents, water, food & clothes:
"We want to help where we can. Volunteers are going out to the affected areas in four weeks' time. We're going to be taking supplies directly to these impacted families.
"We would appreciate whatever people can give. This is a very trying time for many people across the UK, so whatever little they can give; whether it's £1 or £2, we're grateful for it."
Mrs. Irshad, who has relatives out in Karachi close to Sindh, says it's a worrying time:
"My thoughts and my prayers go out to everyone who's been affected.
"It's absolutely devastating; the scenes that we're seeing are just horrendous.
"Villages have been lost, lives have been completely destroyed.
"My parents are from Pakistan. It is a land that I call my second home, so seeing the tragedy unfold before our very own eyes has been so harrowing."
