The famous former nightclub building still stands today as the O2 Academy, take a look at these five facts you may not know from a club we all have fond memories of...

1) Kylie Minogue performed here!

Australian pop princess Kyle hit fame in TV show Neighbours in the 80's and left to pursue a very successful pop career.

2) The club featured on Hitman and Her TV programme

The ITV show was one of the first programmes broadcast in the early hours as most channels didn't broadcast through the night back then. Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachan were the hosts. Jason Orange featured as a dancer before joining Take That!

3) What was life before The Roxy?

Prior to The Roxy, the club was previously known as Top Rank Suite. The sign on the building was Top Rank Sheffield Suite. In those days they used to host ballroom dancing contests.
