Famous Cheltenham Festival trophy stolen in Sheffield

It was being worked on at Camelot Silverware ahead of the horse racing event next month.

A famous and valuable trophy used at the Cheltenham Festival has been stolen in a commercial burglary in Sheffield.

At around 6.10pm on Thursday (2 February), South Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a burglary at Camelot Silverware on Gibraltar Street.

Several items of silverware were taken during the burglary, including the famous and distinctive Grand Annual Steeple Chase Cheltenham trophy, which was being worked on ahead of the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Officers are keen to from anyone who may have witnessed the burglary, or information about those responsible.
